Book Groups

In-Library Book Discussion Groups

The Library hosts five book clubs for Adults each month. All are free and open to the public.

Booked for Lunch meets from 12:15 pm to 1:15 pm on the first Wednesday of every month. Come and fill your lunch time with lively discussions. Bring your own brown bag lunch. Limited to 40 participants.

Dan Ewald's Book Discussion Group meets from 7 pm to 8:30 pm on the second Tuesday of each month, September through June. Limited to 20 participants.

Life Readers meets from 7 pm to 8:30 pm on the first Wednesday of every month, September through June. Limited to 20 participants.

Mystery Readers' Book Group meets from 10:15 am to 11:30 am on the second Tuesday of every month, September through June. Limited to 20 participants.

As a Matter of Fact...Non-Fiction Readers meets from 7 pm to 8:30 pm on the third Wednesday of every month, September through June. Drop-in participants are welcome.

 

Starting a Book Group? Already Have an Existing Book Group?

Thinking of starting a book discussion group and looking for books? Already belong to a group and interested in new titles? Then check out the Troy Public Library's Books on the Go discussion kits. The kits include 12-15 copies of the same title and discussion questions. They circulate for eight weeks to Troy Library cardholders, and may be renewed once, for an additional eight weeks.

Kits can be picked up and returned at the Library's Adult desk or Technology desk during regular Library hours. Please do not leave them in the after-hours drop boxes.

Overdue kits will be charged $1 a day. Kits with missing item(s) will be charged $1 a day until the item is returned. Replacement cost of an entire kit is $75. Replacement costs of individual parts of the kits will depend on the cost of each item.
