It may only be the beginning of the school year, but it is never too early to get ahead of the class. Brainfuse is an online tutoring resource for students in grades 3 through 12. Tutors are available seven days a week from 2 - 11pm, and offer live, one-on-one help in a variety of subjects, including math, social studies, science, and English. Brainfuse tutors are qualified to assist students at any level, from brushing up on a subject to in-depth help.

And best of all, Brainfuse is available to you free-of-charge, if you have a Troy Public Library card.

Among these enhancements are over nine million new business listings, job listings that allow you to search by company name within business profiles, and the ability to search multiple company names.

Another major addition is a resource center offering tutorials, videos, blogs, and webcasts that provide live how-to instruction for users.

The Troy Public Library provides access for Troy residents to the Learning Express Library (LEL), a convenient, easy-to-use, electronic resource that provides preparation and practice for a variety of exams and licensing courses and work/life skills.

The Learning Express Library offers practice and preparation for a wide range of courses and exams for all ages. Need to study for the ACT or SAT? Access the LEL for review courses and practice exams for every subject area covered on the ACT and SAT.

There are basic skill improvement courses for elementary, junior high and high school students. For adults, there are GED and GRE courses; military and U.S. Citizenship exam preparations; and modules for strengthening your computer, internet, personal finance, job-searching and workplace skills.

In addition to the 30 international languages and 12 ESL courses that are currently offered by the Library through the Mango Languages eResource, there are now four new languages in the Mango Languages Learning Center: Castillian Spanish (a dialect spoken in northern and central Spain), Icelandic, Swedish, and Tagalog (the national language of the Philippines).
