Keys to the KitchenThe Big Library Read – a “global book club” sponsored by the Troy Library’s ebook vendor, OverDrive – is back.

From February 17 to March 5, libraries will lend millions of the same ebook to patrons around the world, simultaneously, for free. This year’s big read ebook is Food Network and Cooking Channel star, Aida Mollenkamp's Keys to the Kitchen. During this time, Keys to the Kitchen will be available to download to your tablet, smartphone, or ereader without wait lists or holds.

Keys to the Kitchen is a cookbook by definition, but it is much more than simply directions to get from page to plate. Aida Mollenkamp provides helpful how-to information on everything from proper knife skills and finding the right ingredients to throwing a show-stopping cocktail party. It doesn’t just provide ideas on what to cook, but also walks the reader through how to cook.

In addition to providing her book for free, Aida will also be chatting on Facebook with readers on Wednesday, February 26, at 8 pm. To chat with Aida on Facebook, click this link on February 26 at 8 pm. Readers will have a chance to ask Aida about everything from her passion for discovering new flavors, her studies at Le Cordon Bleu Paris and much more.

Be sure to follow Aida’s adventures on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram and learn great kitchen tips and tricks from her weekly web series In the Pantry on Yahoo! Shine.
